A fun, energetic class incorporating funky hip hop dance moves, this class is a great cardiovascular workout. The dance element to this class also helps in coordination and, as an added bonus, strengthens your core muscles.

Cardio Sculpt

A class combining cardiovascular and muscle sculpting exercises,this is a great class to attend if weight loss is an objective - the cardiovascular activity increases fat-burning while the strength training increases muscle mass, which in turn increases the body’s metabolism.

Body Jam

BODYJAM™ is a 55 minute workout set to the latest music and greatest dance moves. It’s cardio fun at it’s best for those with a passion for movement. You will be burn calories, increase your fitness levels - and learn to dance better.

Body Combat

BODYCOMBAT™ is a non-combat, martial arts-based fitness program with moves drawn from Karate, Tae Kwan Do, Kung Fu, kickboxing, Muay Thai and Tai Chi.

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient method of body conditioning that incorporates exercises to stretch and strengthen the body, breathing techniques to help calm the mind and relaxation practices to release accumulated stress within the body.

Pilates

Pilates is a systematic methodology developed by Joseph Pilates, originally called Contrology. The foundation of the Pilates method is to address structural imbalances by stabilising the pelvic and shoulder girdles and conditioning the body’s core postural muscles.

Retro Groove

Retro Groove - is a dance class playing the music from the 70's and 80's. People who may have missed the chance of dancing during those eras can now bring back and reminisce those times. Cardiovascular, coordination and balance can be benefited from this class.

Classes are coded to describe the benefits obtained. Please see below for the definitions of the codes. We recommend that you attend 3 classes weekly, making sure that all areas of conditioning are addressed in your choice of classes. If weight loss is your primary objective, we suggest that at least 2 of the 3 classes chosen have cardiovascular benefits and at least one of the classes chosen works on strength.

C: Cardiovascular
Exercise that uses the large muscles of the body, and which help make the heart and lungs stronger. The benefits of cardiovascular exercise include lowered blood pressure and increased calorie-burning, aiding in weight loss


S: Strength & Core
Strength training is the use of resistance to muscular contraction to build strength and endurance. It is important that core strength training be included. The benefits of strength training include increased bone density, increased muscular strength, increase in metabolism and elevated HDL (good) cholesterol.


M: Mind-Body Balance
Activity that engages mental awareness into the physical practice. Mind-body exercise is executed with great attention placed on the details of alignment and engagement of the appropriate muscle groups. The benefits of mind-body activities include improved body awareness and greater control over the emotions.


O: Coordination & Balance
Balance is the ability to control one’s centre of gravity over the base of support, and coordination is the ability to perform smooth and controlled movements, achieved by the optimal interaction of muscle function.


F: Flexibility and Core Conditioning
Flexibility is the range of motion about a joint and its surrounding muscles during a passive movement. By improving the joint range of motion, risk of injury can be reduced.
